You can see the pattern perfectly. You have done the thinking. And still your jaw locks, your chest braces, your shoulders climb, your stomach drops before you have had time to choose. That is not a failure of willpower. It is a body still protecting you from something that is over. Somatic work is how we tell it, gently, that it can rest.

What somatic means
Somatic simply means "of the body". In a somatic session we include what your body is doing, right now, in the conversation. Breath, posture, sensation, the urge to pull away or lean in. Not to analyse it to death, but to listen to it, because the body carries wisdom the mind talked itself out of long ago.
Trauma gives yesterday a key to today. A tone of voice, a silence, a certain look, and your whole system reacts as if the old danger were back in the room. A trigger is an old alarm ringing in a new room. Somatic healing changes the lock. Slowly, with consent, at a pace your nervous system can trust, the alarm learns that this room is safe.
You stay awake, in charge and fully clothed in a chair on a video call. Nothing dramatic is forced. Most people are surprised by how quiet the work is, and by how much changes anyway: sleep, tension, how fast they recover after a hard conversation, how present they feel in their own life.

Four somatic paths
Each path comes as a single session, to feel what this is, or as a six-week path, where the real, lasting change happens because you test the new safety in real life, week after week.
01 · Somatic Mind-Body Healing
We slow down enough to notice what your body is doing, and we respond without forcing a release. Tension you had accepted as normal begins to soften. You start to feel warmth, hunger, comfort, your feet on the floor, and the simple gift of being present. For the person who has lived in their head and would like to come home.
Single session
One theme, one gentle hour, one clear shift in how your body feels.
Six-week path
Six weeks, one session a week, one layer at a time. Plus a personal practice library that grows with you, so the calm survives an ordinary Wednesday.
02 · Trauma-Informed Somatic Life Coaching
All the power of coaching, decisions, standards, boundaries, action, with the body in the room. We track what activates you, we return to the present before we push, and we build the change on safety instead of on pressure. For the person who has tried coaching before and felt their body quietly refuse.
Single session
One real situation, looked at with your mind and your body together.
Six-week path
The Take Back Your Life method, trauma-informed and body-aware. For the change that has to survive real life.
03 · Somatic Reprocessing for Illness and Pain
When symptoms, tension or pain have been part of your life for a long time, fear and attention start to feed them. We meet those present-day responses directly and kindly: breathing, sleep, the nervous system, decision fatigue, the volume of unfinished demands you carry. Alongside your medical care, never instead of it, we make everyday life feel manageable and give you back a sense of choice.
Single session
One symptom or one situation, one calm hour, one new way to respond.
Six-week path
Six weeks to change the inputs one by one, so your body has a different response to lean on.
04 · Somatic Weight Loss Coaching
Weight is never a measure of character. We start with safety, stress, sleep and body signals, then habits, environment and the meaning you attached to food and movement, and we build changes you can repeat on a busy week. Compassionate, and still expecting honest action. This is the work I trained for with Rhythm for the Perfect Weight and the somatic weight loss certification.
Single session
One pattern around food or movement, one honest hour, one change you can keep.
Six-week path
Six weeks to rebuild your relationship with food, movement and your own body, from the inside out.
Not sure which path is yours? Start with the free strategy session and I will tell you honestly, including whether coaching or ThetaHealing would serve you better right now. Already working with me? Add any somatic session to your programme for its single-session price.
How a session runs
A few minutes to land: breath, feet on the floor, what is here today. You tell me what you want to work on, in as much or as little detail as you like.
I guide your attention to sensation, breath, posture and impulse. No forcing. When something surfaces, we stay curious, and we go only as far as feels safe.
Before anything big, we come back to the present: orientation, grounding, the room you are actually in. This is where the old alarm learns the new address.
One small practice you can use in under two minutes, written down. Then real life gives your body the chance to prove that the change is real.

Client stories
I had lived with tension in my jaw, chest and shoulders for so long that I treated it as normal. During our somatic sessions, Stella helped me slow down enough to notice what my body was doing and respond without trying to force a release. In one session I cried before I had a clear explanation for the emotion. Stella kept the pace gentle and gave me permission to stay curious. Over time, I felt layers of tension begin to soften. I feel more present in my body and better able to recognise when I need movement, rest, space or support.
My body was constantly braced. I noticed every pause, shift in tone and change in expression, then prepared for conflict before anything had happened. Stella began with regulation and helped me track the difference between a present signal and an old protective response. We worked slowly with grounding, orientation and body awareness. As I began to feel safer in ordinary moments, I stopped assuming that silence meant disapproval. Life still brings tension, but my body no longer treats every quiet room as a warning. That has made work and relationships feel much easier to inhabit.
My mind could understand that a difficult event was over while my body still reacted through tightness, flinching and freezing. Somatic work with Stella gave me a way to meet those present-day responses directly. Some sessions were quiet and others brought stronger sensations, but the pace remained collaborative and grounded. Over several weeks, the tightness across my chest softened and I could stay more present in situations that once made my body shut down. Stella never treated the work as a substitute for healthcare. She offered a steady space where I could listen to my body and build a different response.
Questions
No. Somatic work does not need the whole story told out loud. We work with what your body is doing now, not with a detailed retelling of the past. You share only what you choose to share.
Then we slow down, and we return to the present together. You always have a choice, and you can stop at any moment. Nothing is pushed. Some sessions are quiet, some bring stronger feelings, and both are fine.
No. Somatic healing is a trauma-informed coaching and wellbeing practice. It does not diagnose, treat or cure any condition, and it never replaces medical or psychological care. Please keep any treatment you are receiving. Many clients use this work alongside their doctors and therapists.
Coaching works with what you do. ThetaHealing works with what you believe. Somatic healing works with what your body carries. Many people use two of the three. In the free session I will tell you honestly where I would start with you.
Yes, beautifully. You are in your own space, which is often safer than a stranger's room. You need a quiet place, a stable connection and somewhere comfortable to sit.
